Assist. Prof. Dr. Taner DURSUN completed his B.Sc. in Control and Computer Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, where he also earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in the Department of Computer Engineering.
He began his academic career as a Lecturer at Atatürk University before joining TÜBİTAK as a Researcher. Over a career spanning more than 25 years at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, he held various roles ranging from software developer to project manager, contributing to large-scale national infrastructure development projects. After leading the TÜBİTAK Blockchain Laboratory starting in 2018, he concluded his tenure at TÜBİTAK as a Senior Chief Researcher and joined the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering at Istanbul 29 Mayis University in 2026. Within his academic focus on blockchain, he has taken part in numerous initiatives, including national digital identity infrastructure, Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), Turkish capital market crypto-asset regulations, and regulatory technology (RegTech) frameworks.
He currently pursues his research on security, digital identities, distributed governance, and economic models within blockchain and artificial intelligence-based systems.
